NON-LEAGUE SOCCER: In what is now generally regarded the most disruptive winter weather-wise in 20 years, the entire south-east Essex programme for Tuesday night has been wiped out.

Biggest casualties are Grays Athletic in the Blue Square Premier who, after seeing Saturday's clash at Kettering postponed due to a frostbound surface, saw Tuesday's bid to continue their fight against the drop at home to Hayes and Yeading washed out.

After Monday's torrential rain, brighter conditions on Tuesday morning gave some hope for the evening's programme.

But all that changed with heavy afternoon rain with the entire seven match Ryman Premier programme being called off.

This included the Bridge Avenue clash between two teams on the fringes of the play-off race - AFC Hornchurch and Canvey Island.

It was the same sad story in Division One North where second-placed Concord Rangers' bid to continue a winning run which now stands at eight games at fellow promotion hopefuls East Thurrock United was among the victims.

Also off was the Maldon Town v Great Wakering Rovers clash.

The weather continues to ravage the Essex Senior League programme and this evening (Tuesday) both the Barking v Southend Manor and Stansted v Tiptree matches were off along with the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy quarter-final between Takeley and Sawbridgeworth.

Tuesday's planned new town derby between Bowers and Pitsea and Basildon United, due at the Len Salmon Stadium in Crown Avenue, was already postponed.
