JOHN Coventry’s East Thurrock United face a major test of their promotion aspirations over the next four days, during which they play the top two.

They follow tomorrow’s trip to top dogs Lowestoft by hosting second-placed Concord Rangers on Tuesday.

Despite having the division’s top scorer in the shape of Sam Higgins, Rocks have faltered in their honours bid recently — but still stand well-placed for the play-offs in fourth spot.

For tomorrow’s encounter they can console themselves that their Suffolk hosts, who lead the table by six points with two games in hand, have lost the only two games they’ve been beaten in on home soil. The host side have their own major goal threat in the shape of Matt Nolan.
