BOXING: Welterweight Wayne Hibbert is well up for his York Hall challenge this weekend. The Stanford fighter will take on Matt Scriven, from Nottingham.
The venue is the famous York Hall at Bethnal Green.
Wayne, who is unbeaten in three having stopped his last two opponents, is looking forward to getting back into the ring.
He’s got a big Thurrock following and will probably be the biggest draw on the Winter Warriors show card. Some tickets are available and can be had by calling 07731 703713.
Hibbert is a novice professional fighter and trains with former British and light welterweight champ Jason Rowland from Wickford.
His manager Richard Clark said: “Wayne is a character he puts shots together nicely. He’s the sort of fighter who will be knocking on the door for area titles soon.”
Hibbert is sponsored by T&P lead roofing, Cohart Asbestos Disposal, Lucky’s Gym and White’s scrapyard
