BLUE SQUARE PREMIER: Grays Athletic will go into home action against Tamworth tomorrow having enjoyed a rare midweek boost.

For they went to Barrow on Tuesday and returned with a priceless point following a 2-2 draw.

It leaves Julian Dicks’s side still carrying the unenviable title of the only Premier side without an away win all season.

But they’ll start tomorrow’s match confident that they were the better side at Barrow, where they faced a 500-mile round trip, and deserved three points.

They took the lead on 15 minutes through Petar Rnkovic and, although pulled back by a James Walker equaliser, looked to be heading for a win when Ryan James grabbed the lead back for the visitors on his debut.

Grays’ hearts were broken when Craig Nelthorpe again put Barrow on terms 12 minutes from time.

But Grays, fourth from bottom and with only two wins in 21 starts, will take heart going into tomorrow’s match against 12th placed Tamworth and Tuesday night’s New Rec encounter with a Histon side currently 14th in the table.
