RYMAN ONE NORTH: East Thurrock United moved to second in the table following Tuesday’s 3-0 win at Potters Bar Town on Tuesday night.
And now they’ll be favourites to step-up their promotion bid tomorrow when they host Essex rivals Heybridge Swifts who, despite some recent improvements, are down in 13th place in the table.
Rocks will come up against a new goalkeeper for the game as stopper Ollie Morris-Saunders played his last game for Swifts before moving to Aveley in last weekend’s 1-1 home draw with Enfield Town.
After tomorrow’s encounter the Rookery Hill outfit will look for a place in the quarter-finals of the Essex Senior Cup on Tuesday night when they host Premier Division AFC Hornchurch in a fourth round tie.
Rocks currently trail shock leaders Great Wakering Rovers by four points, but have five matches in hand on the village side.
Against Potters Bar, Sam Higgins continued his fine scoring run with a brace to bring his league tally to eight in six games. Max Cornhill netted the opener.
l Rocks lost second spot to pre-season title favourites Lowestoft Town on Wednesday when the Suffolk side won their away game with Waltham Forest.
