BELHUS claimed local bragging rights after easing to an emphatic eight wicket win over Orsett & Thurrock in the Shepherd Neame Essex League.
The away side were comfortable victors in Division One after Orsett failed to fire having elected to bat.
A total of just 127 was not enough for any points, with Umar Ayub (58) contributing almost half of the visitors’ runs.
The efforts of Max Osborne (3-28) and Connor Day (3-40) helped Belhus to a very strong position at the halfway point.
Ryan Wells (39 not out) and Danny Joyce (37 not out) saw Belhus over the line with eight wickets to spare and 27.4 overs on the board.
The result leaves Belhus fourth in the standings, with Orsett & Thurrock third from bottom, four points above the relegation zone.
