HORNDON-ON-THE-HILL eased to a seven wicket win in Shepherd Neame Essex League Division Two.
Following on from a heavy defeat against Wickford last time out, Horndon overcame Fives & Heronians declaration (225/6) to win with more than seven overs remaining.
Jack Walsh (83 not out) and Jeff West (65 not out) guided Horndon to a hugely impressive victory.
However, Stanford-le-Hope did not enjoy similar success against Walthamstow at Main Square in Division Three.
Walthamstow scored 153 in their innings, with Jack Carter (3-30) and Adam Knight (3-42) doing the damage with the ball.
And only Martin Leslie mustered any resistance with the bat. His 49 was 35 runs better than any of his team-mates to leave Stanford second from bottom.
