Thurrock Harriers runner Don Lawless has earned an international running vest after 30 years of endeavour.
The popular member of the club will represent Scotland in the Home Countries International 10K in Manchester for the 50+ age group.
And his club said they were hugely proud of his achievement after three decades trying to reach his goal.
“We are so pleased his persistence and hard work has finally paid off,” said a club spokesperson.
>Elsewhere, the club’s best London Marathon performance came from Scott Rice.
The experienced V45 campaigner ran expertly in hot conditions to finish in 2 hours 58 minutes.
The club’s three other finishers were Toby Draper (3:05), Tim Martin (4:14) and Joe Gregory (4:37).
Also in London were Finnlay Lowe and Hayley Instance, who were representing the East of England in the mini marathons.
