THE PREVIEW: East Thurrock United make the trip to Bognor Regis aware that it represents a good chance to secure a morale-boosting three points.

Rocks’ only league win in 2018 came almost two months ago against Oxford City.

They now find themselves nine points from the bottom three and 10 points from the play-offs but, most importantly, six points off manager John Coventry’s target of 46 points.

But they now play a Bognor side - promoted last season - looking to extricate themselves from the relegation places.

Time is fast running out for Bognor - also nicknamed the Rocks - and they sit 10 points from safety with 11 games remaining.

East Thurrock won the reverse fixture 2-0, with Sam Higgins and Montel Agyemang on target.

THE INSIGHT: “We have been training hard and are ready to go ahead of the next game,” said assistant manager Paul Vaughan. “We know we are not in the best run of form but all we can do is look at the next opponent and keep striving to reach our targets.

“We have had a few injuries to contend with but we just need to keep going and get ourselves in a strong position ahead of tomorrow.

“A few wins can change things. We are training hard and need to apply ourselves correctly to give ourselves a good chance.

“We have targeted this game to get some points. If we get a draw it’s another point towards our target.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Harry Darling joins on loan from Cambridge United.
