ATHLETICS: Six Thurrock Harriers raced around the Chelmsford 10k impressively on the ultra fast course.
They were led in by Alec Finch, who finished an excellent third in 33 minutes 10 seconds (personal best).
Nick Trencher’s 38:28 also earned him a PB and a place in the top 40, with Paul Green also showing good form before the MV50 Essex Championships.
Rob Doyle ran 39:24, Paul Mitchell 42:24 (PB) and Gary Rowlett (MV45) also completed the course in under 44 minutes.
The Cross Country Challenge at Milton Keynes saw athletes from across Great Britain compete.
Jayne Elvin was in 13th in the under-13 girls category, with Demi Eves 16th for the U15 girls.
For the U17 women, Hayley Instance was ninth and Amber Pullinger finished 16th.
Dylan Harrod was 56th for the U15 boys, with Ben Prior 47th, Sarab Dhillon 61st and Taylor Newell 71st in the U17 men’s category.
