EAST Thurrock United came from behind three times to secure a 3-3 draw against Oxford City and maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Sam Higgins and Lee Burns got on the scoresheet for Rocks, while Cristian Navarro put through his own net for the home side.
The Hoops took a fourth minute lead, as Dave Pearce slotted home after Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain burst into the penalty area.
But Higgins got John Coventry’s side back on level terms nine minutes later as he bent his free kick over the wall and into the corner of the net.
Oxford City restored their one-goal advantage 10 minutes before the interval.
Ex-Southend United striker Matt Paterson rounded Lukas Lidakevicius and a back-tracking defender before slotting the ball into an empty net.
But the away side hit back just past the hour mark, as Navarro headed a Rocks cross past his own goalkeeper.
Reece Fleet scored the Hoops’ third goal of the game, as he headed in a dangerous cross.
With Rocks’ unbeaten record under threat, it looked as though Coventry’s charges were going to leave Marsh Lane without any points to show for their efforts.
But Burns equalised with a header and Rocks will travel to National League South frontrunners Chelmsford City tonight having still not been beaten this term.
East Thurrock United: Lidakevicius, Sammons, Harris, Allen, Ekpiteta, Burns, Agyemang (Honesty 84’), Cornhill, Higgins, Akinwande (White 69’), Smith
