CRICKET: Belhus reached the final of the Dukes League Cup for the first time with a six-wicket win over Premier Division Southend & EMT at Southchurch Park on Sunday.
Tom Phillippe had top scored for Southend with 54 and Numan Khan, opening the batting, posted 47 as Southend closed on 229/7.
But Belhus captain Danny Joyce kept his nerve and led his team to a six-wicket win with an undefeated score of 91.
Supporting Danny Joyce was younger brother Joe with 47, while Roy Heffernan made 27, Ryan Wells 37 and Martin Guilbert was at the crease with Danny Joyce when the target was reached, finishing on 12 not out.
Belhus ended on 231/4.
Earlier, Danny Norris took 3/43, Vamshi Lingala 2/48, and Guilbert and Matthew Doran picked up one wicket each.
The final will be staged on Monday, August 28 and will be against either Chingford or Wanstead & Snaresbrook.
