IT was a clean-sweep for Horndon-on-the-Hill as four teams secured wins in the Shepherd Neame Essex League.

The first team made it six wins in a row against on-form Wickford to climb to fourth in Division Two.

Wickford, put into bat, made just 121 in their innings, with Stephen Edwards in stunning form with the ball, taking 6/18 on an excellent day.

Horndon didn’t get the start they wanted, as Tom Stone, Jack Walsh, Connor Hammond and David Cole all failed to impress with the bat.

But Mo Asif (41 not out) and Scott Plom (52 not out) ensured victory was to be Horndon’s.

The 2s crushed Harlow Town, who only scored 30 runs before being bowled out.

Jack Marson (5/13) and Tom Piggott (4/15) did the damage before the total was chased down in three overs.

The 3s remain top of the table after beating Basildon.

Basildon were restricted to 206/5, as Horndon chased down the total in 32 overs for the loss of three wickets.

Harry Philpot (68 not out) and Callum Brady (88 not out) impressed.

And the 4s lost five wickets in a win against the same opponent.

Basildon were bowled out for 107 - Bibin Mathew picked up three wickets but the star of the show was Richard Jasper, who took 3/3.

Horndon chased the total down in overs with everyone chipping in, Dan Marshall top scored with 20.
