Grays Athletic, Aveley and Tilbury continued their preparations for the new season by featuring in entertaining friendlies, while Thurrock's clash with Romford was postponed.

Mark Stimson's side were due to face Romford at Ship Lane, but the match was called off due to there being no officials.

Jamie Stuart's Grays had a well-known striker get on the scoresheet as they drew 1-1 against Southend Manor.

The Essex Senior League side went ahead just before the half hour mark, but former Charlton Athletic frontman Kevin Lisbie, who has 10 international caps for Jamaica, got Grays back on level terms after 68 minutes.

Meanwhile, Aveley secured a 4-3 win over Enfield.

Jake Gordon's long-range effort put the Millers ahead, while Phil Lowen and a trialist extended Terry Spillane's side's lead.

Gordon grabbed his second of the game to give Aveley a 4-0 lead before half time.

Although Enfield hit back by notching three unanswered goals, the hosts could not find an equaliser.

Elsewhere, Tilbury came from a goal down to see off Holland & Blair.

A Ben Brown penalty gave the visitors a 41st minute lead, but Luke Hornsley hit back just two minutes later.

Adam Vyse put the Dockers in front on the hour mark, only for Ted Nelson to level matters five minutes before time.

But Vyse doubled his tally in the dying moments to hand Tilbury a 3-2 win.
