EMILY Scott played the final 13 minutes as England secured a terrific clean sweep of wins in the International Women’s Rugby Series in New Zealand.
The fly-half, from Corringham, came on in the final exchanges as England defeated the Black Ferns 29-21 last weekend.
This followed hugely impressive victories against Australia - 53-10 in Wellington - and Canada - 27-20 in Christchurch.
Abbie Scott, Emily Scarratt, Lydia Thompson, Marlie Packer and Vicky Fleetwood all scored for the Red Roses against what is commonly regarded as the best team in the world.
“We’ve got a picture of where we are now,” said coach Simon Middleton.
“With analysis, we can look at what we have to improve on.
“But we needed to give everything against the best side in the world and we’ve done that and so are rightfully very happy and very proud.”
Scott, formerly of the Thurrock T-Birds, now plies her trade for Saracens in the Women’s Premiership.
