CRICKET: Belhus were emphatically beaten by Billericay in the SNEL First Division.

Billericay won by nine wickets, despite losing the toss.

A duck for Danny Joyce set the tone, and while Joe Joyce (65) and Roy Heffernan (28) went about rebuilding the innings, the middle order collapsed, with only two other players reaching double figures.

Ross Poulton’s 4-19 did the damage in emphatic style.

All out for 183 in 46.4 overs, Billericay were strong favourites and, although Nick Van Lint was dismissed early for 15, that was the only blemish on the scorecard.

David Hinnigan (85 not out) and Lee Knight (66 not out) guided Billericay home.

Elsewhere, the 1s were also beaten in last Friday’s T20 match against Chelmsford, with Jack Sterland’s 95 doing the damage in the 82 run loss.

The 2s were also heavily beaten by Billericay, although the 3s beat Fives & Heronians.

The 4s lost to the same opponents, while the 2s beat Old Friendship on Sunday.
