JOHN Wayne Hibbert has announced he will be making a sensational return to boxing.

Less than six months after quitting the sport following his defeat by Martin Gethin in a fight for the vacant IBF International super lightweight title, Hibbert has revealed on Facebook that he is now reversing that decision.

The Horndon-on-the-Hill fighter, who has also announced a change of trainer, said he felt he had more to give.

“After bit of time out and a good think, I’ve decided to box again,” Hibbert wrote on Facebook. “Many might think it's a bad move, many might like it and think it's a good move.

“Personally I believe I’ve still got something left in the tank.”

Hibbert, who is also a former WBC International super-lightweight champion, will now be working under Barry Smith at West Ham ABC in London.

He has also made the decision to fight at welterweight.
