GRAYS Athletic could not end a disappointing season on a high, as Folkestone Invicta secured a 3-0 win in the final competitive fixture to be played at Mill Field.
Jamie Stuart's side had their relegation from the Ryman Premier League confirmed weeks ago, and their visitors were still in danger of the drop heading into the last match of the season.
But Joseph Taylor put Folkestone in front on the hour mark.
Ian Draycott scored twice in five minutes late on - with the second being a penalty - to secure the win they needed to remain in the division.
Grays will be hoping for an upturn in fortunes when they move into Aveley's new Parkside Stadium in August.
Grays Athletic: Tangara, Mahal (Adebiyi 67'), Payne, Stuart, Osei, Williams-Agunabor, Watkins (Nouble 41'), Sarpong, Baxter (Gogo-Ibiama 61'), Bishop, Carlos
