THURROCK remain set to secure a Ryman North play-off finish this season after defeating Witham Town 2-0 on Friday night.
Second-half goals from Ronnie Winn and Jordan Clark ensured the points against Witham, who battled valiantly until the end.
It was a scrappy start to the match, with Fleet goalkeeper Bobby Mason required more than once to make some alert saves.
Mark Onyemah, a goalscorer last week, was kept out by away stopper Reece Paine before he sent what should have been the opener into the side-netting, having rounded the keeper.
Goalless at the interval, the first goal came on the hour mark.
Ronnie Winn headed into the goal to put the home side ahead, but they were made to wait until the final five minutes for the second.
Onyemah was fouled in the penalty box and Clark made no mistake from 12 yards.
