A Grays judo club’s newest fighters showed their competitive edge at the latest competition in Hornchurch.

Grays Judo Club youngsters excelled, with the event hosting players of all ages and abilities, from the beginners to more advanced.

Most of the Grays squad was only 10-years-old and, for most, it was their first ever away competition and they took the challenge really well.

The club won four gold medals, four silvers and two bronzes.

Gold medallists were Tristan Mikiewicz, Patryk Ciupinski (both seven), Gracjan Janik (eight) and Hunor Pasztor (12).

Silver medals went to Maria Zielinska, Kacper Skrzypczyk, Jeremiasz Heluszka and Sophie Pasztor (all eight).

Bronze medallists were Andrzej Szachraj (seven) and Rebecca Noble (nine).
