EAST Thurrock United returned to form in style with a 5-1 drubbing of Gosport Borough in the National League South.

Rocks have struggled for form in recent weeks but were hugely impressive against struggling Gosport, who they defeated by the same scoreline earlier in the campaign.

The visitors went ahead after three minutes with Reece Harris netting emphatically but held onto that advantage for just five minutes, with Ben Wright leveling the scores.

But East Thurrock stormed ahead after that.

Sam Higgins scored his first of the evening with the game not even 15 minutes old, adding another 12 minutes later.

It was 4-1 at the interval after a second from Harris.

The second half was less eventful, although there was time for Tom Wraight to get in on the act and complete the scoring five minutes from time.
