l RUNDOWN: East Thurrock United will look to transfer their league form to the FA Trophy when they make the relatively short trip to Margate tomorrow.

Rocks have excelled in the first four-and-a-half months of their time in the National League South, and have not lost a league game in any competition for more than two months.

However, the last time they tasted defeat in the division was at Hartsdown Park, where they went down 2-1 on Tuesday, September 6.

Margate are on a different sort of run altogether. They have lost six in a row and have conceded five goals in each of their last two home matches.

Rocks are also completing ground upgrades, in accordance with league rules. Following their promotion, and the ground now being graded B as opposed to C, they need to add an extra 250 undercover seats at the ground.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Rocks boss John Coventry said: “It is a game of football we want to win, with the financial rewards great. It is an opportunity to go further.

“We were disappointed to go out of the FA Cup (a second qualifying round defeat to Whitehawk) when we did but the FA Trophy gives us more games and even a replay on a Tuesday night wouldn’t be a bad thing.

“We weren’t very good at Margate in the league - it was one of our worst performances so far this season. But a lot has changed and we are much more confident.

“Margate have had problems recently. I saw them lose at Eastbourne Borough this week and I do expect to win this game but I expect to win all our games.”

l TEAM NEWS: A number of players underwent fitness tests at training last night.
