EAST Thurrock United earned their first ever back-to-back wins in the National League South with a crushing 5-1 win against Weston-Super-Mare.

Five different scorers got on the score-sheet for Rocks, who continue to find the net regularly in the absence of Sam Higgins, and they were comfortable in what was the first meeting between the sides.

Rocks took the lead in the 22nd minute after a bright start. Ben Marlow picked the ball just inside his own half and carried the ball down the right flank, driving into the box and pulling the ball back for Kane Ferdinand to steer home from 10 yards.

Weston changed their formation and it paid dividends as they turned up the heat, enjoying a 15 minute period before they deservedly equalised on the stroke of half-time.

Dayle Grubb scored the visitors goal, with a superbly struck effort from the edge of the box, curling it around Lukas Lidakevicius and into the bottom corner.

But after the break there was only one side in it as East Thurrock re-asserted their dominance straight from the restart.

Tom Wraight restored the lead after just three minutes from a free-kick 25 yards out - his left-footed strike finding the top corner, crashing in off the underside of the crossbar.

It took another seven minutes for the fourth goal of the afternoon with Reece Harris adding his name to the scoresheet with a well taken low strike from the right hand side of the box.

Man-of-the-Match James Walker scored to make it 4-1, adding to his impressive goal return this month.

Wraight picked the striker out on the left flank with a great cross field ball and he controlled the long pass, turned and outpaced his marker, before looping the ball over the goal keeper from a tight angle, via a deflection.

Captain Joe Ellul sealed the result in the 80th minute, heading home from close range from a floated free kick taken by Michael Freiter.
