A FOUR-GOAL salvo from Tom Wraight helped East Thurrock United on the way to a terrific three points against Truro City, routing the Cornish side 6-0.

It was a wonderful display from Rocks, who had Wraight to thank for four first-half goals, before former Southend United midfielder and recent addition Kane Ferdinand and Reece Harris scored further late strikes to complete a fine afternoon’s work.

It took nine minutes for the first goal to come, as Wraight finished a flowing move to strike into the net.

Lee Burns was withdrawn with an injury midway through the half, but that didn’t put the visitors off their stride.

Wraight’s second was something special as he took aim from range and rifled an unstoppable shot into the corner on 34 minutes.

And two goals in two minutes approaching the end of the half for the same man meant Wraight had earned the match-ball before the half-time whistle.

Truro improved after the break, as they threatened to get back on the scoresheet, but Rocks boss John Coventry was able to get that 90 minute performance he had been searching for in the early stages of the season.

Substitute Ferdinand got in on the act with 15 minutes remaining before Harris crashed home a late sixth to make it a very happy bus journey home.
