ORSETT & Thurrock lost their fourth match in a row as Harold Wood comfortably won by seven wickets.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first but got off to a poor start as four wickets were lost with just 21 runs on the board.

But captain Paul Bennett (66) and Matt Hills (37) led the recovery and managed to get their side to a total of 170.

Orsett & Thurrock needed to take early wickets if they were to have a chance of victory and they managed to do so as George Pavitt took three wickets to leave the hosts wobbling at 33-3.

However Maruf Chowdhury (87 not out) and Raihan Hussain (71 not out) took the game away from the visitors and managed to chase down the target in just the 26th over.

Orsett & Thurrock will look to finish their league season on a high on Saturday against Fives and Heronians.
