GRAYS karate club Yamaguchi Goju-Kai showed their class once again at their hugely popular Kumite tournament.
Held at William Edwards School, more than 200 spectators packed the venue for the Karate Kumite Tournament in Thurrock.
In total, 160 students competed from 15 clubs and associations that attended the event with a number of the Grays’ club’s members excelling.
In the Slam man event, Danielle Ball, Amalia Olaru, John Joe Field, Lois Galea, Keelan Perry and Jayden Ilkhan took gold, Emma Westcott, Mitchell Ames, Matti Zajac and Tyler Ilkhan took silver and Kirstie Fox, Maddison Ball, Lucas Perry and Millie Sparks earned bronze.
In the Kumite Sasha Edgeler, Amy Raven, Owen Dixie (x2), John Joe Field and Lois Galea won gold, Danielle Ball and Kirstie Fox won silver and Emma Westcott, Maddison Ball, Lewis Darby, Matti Zajac, Jan Swarz and Millie Sparks bronze.
