HORNDON-on-the-Hill are fifth in the Shepherd Neame Essex League Division Two standings after beating visitors Hainault & Clayhall by 45 runs.
Captain Jack Walsh elected to bat and was rewarded as all but one of his batsmen got into double figures as the Horndon hosts reached 212-6 from their 50-over allocation.
Tom Stone (18), Connor Price (16) and Damien Sweet (14) kept the scoreboard ticking over. Martin Sayers top-scored with 37, while Gary Ginsburgh added 25.
Walsh hit an unbeaten 34 and Stephen Edwards was 36 not out against an attack led by Faizan Muhammad (2-44).
Ryan Madder (6-41) helped decimate the Hainault reply, with his haul including two ducks, as the visitors were bowled out for 167.
Jack Marson claimed 2-44 a Sagar Joshi led the reply with 54 runs.
But Dominic Hurst (15), captain Irfan Shah (28) and Bhalandip Singh (31) were the only others to reach double figures.
