IT was a successful day all around as Thurrock Harriers’ athletes shone at the annual Essex County Multi Events Championship.

Hosted by the Harriers this year, they picked up two gold, a silver and a bronze medals along with many personal and season’s bests.

Under 15B Theo Adesina was excellent as he won a gold Essex medal with two PBs, with a 6.45m in the long jump and in the outdoor Pentathlon with a score of 2793, ending the day an number one in his age group.

Under 13B Oreofeoluwa Adepegba was all smiles after winning the Essex Gold Medal as well as taking home three PBs, in the shot put (8.53m), 800m (2.44.7s) and the Pentathlon (1523), also the best in his age group.

Under 17M Charlie Splarn earned a silver Essex medal as well as three PBs on the day, in the long jump (5.05m SB), 200m (25.60s SB), discus (24.60m PB), as well as a PB in the 1500m and Pentathlon.

Daniel Ogutuga brought home four PBs, winning the Essex Bronze medal and excelling in the 80m hurdles (14.2s PB), the shot put (9.85m), the long jump (5.96m) and a Penathlon score of 2151.

Under 15G Sola Taiwo won a Bronze Essex Medal with four PBs – the 75m hurdles (12.4s), shot put (7.63m), high jump (1.44m) and Pentathlon (2391).

Under 17W Jess Whitbread missed out on a medal but took home two PBs, jumping 1.37m in the high jump and 4.99m in the long jump, with a SB in shot put.

Gbenga Adewole gained two PBs, in the 80m hurdles (18.8s) and in the shot put (4.30m).

Daniel Lucking gained five PB's, in the 75m hurdles (15.8s), shot put (5.25m), high jump (1.20m), 800m (2.46.0s) and in the pentathlon.

Daniel Emeka-Ugwuda took home PBs in the 75m hurdles (16.5s), shot put (6.31m) and the Pentathlon, Sean Emeka-Ugwuda got PBs in the shot put (5.15m) and the Pentathlon and Tosin Olajide earned five PBs in the 75m hurdles (16.6s), shot put (5.95m), long jump (3.96m), 800m (3.30.4s) and the Pentathlon.

Liam Norcott brought home a SB in the 75m hurdles with a time of 17.4s and a PB in the shot put with a throw of 3.80m.

Funminiyi Olajide gained two PBs and a SB in the shot put (10.15m), 800m (3.31.6) and overall score of 2364, Leisha Hunt ran a SB in the 800m (2.43.7s), a PB in the long jump (4.82m) and brought home an overall PB of 2328.

Ruby Bridger gained a PB with her overall score of 2168 PB.

Tolani Odumosu gained a PB in all six events she competed in -75m hurdles (16.0s), long jump (3.65m), shot put (6.07m), high jump (1.14m), 800m (2.52.3s) and Pentathlon.

Newcomer Nicole Emeke-Ugwuadu repeated the feat in the 75m hurdles (18.9s), long jump (3.51m), high jump (1.20m), shot put (5.70m), 800m (2.54.8s) and Pentathlon.

Funmi Adewole brought home four PBs - 70m hurdles (14.4s), long jump (4.02m), 800m (3.08.6s) and an overall score of 1492, Tilly Monk gained five PBs and a SB in the 70m hurdles (14.9s), high jump (1.19m), long jump (3.57m), shot put (4.91m), 800m (2.56.6s) and overall score of 1450, Chloe Brand earned PBs in the high jump (0.98m), shot put (4.15m), 800m (2.59.4s) and in the overall standings while Scarlett Carter brought home an array of PBs, including in the 70m Hurdles (15.7s), high jump (1.19m), long jump (2.76m), 800m (3.19.2s) and overall score.
