The preview: East Thurrock are assured of a play-off place and still have a top-two finish in their grasp ahead of their finish match at relegated Lewes.

Rocks have won the last five matches and will be strong favourites to win this clash, although with second-placed Bognor Regis Town also expected to win, John Coventry’s men are set to finish third and almost certainly set up a tie with Tonbridge Angels in the play-offs.

Lewes have drawn three of their last four matches 2-2, before defeat to Dulwich Hamlet last weekend, and they will be looking to show the fight they demonstrated in the reverse fixture.

Although it ended 4-1, the Rooks impressed that day and were unfortunate to lose in the manner they did.

What he said: Rocks boss John Coventry said: “We have to look at it as Bognor might slip up (against Hendon). We could get second and in the big scheme that could be a very good advantage (securing a potential home play-off final). I want to finish second as I want to be runners up. It would be a nice feeling.

"There will be pressure on Hampton & Richmond Borough and Bognor who might think they could nick the title off Hampton but that could work against them as well.

"We have to go and get three points at Lewes and I will make some changes and give players some minutes who might be used in the play-offs.

"We are coming into play-offs with momentum and that is a very good sign and Lewes have been doing well and it will be a tricky one."
