A TALENTED 16-year-old kickboxer is looking to add a world title to his collection of belts when he steps back into the ring next month.
Marley Mason, who goes to St Clere’s School in Stanford-le-Hope, is preparing for the Saturday, May 15 clash with Barnsley fighter Keenan Dixon in Rochester, Kent.
Mason, who trains at Canning Town’s Peacock Gym, recently got the better of Ireland’s Bradley Beck as he was named British Flyweight champion.
Mason already has three Southern Area belts, four British belts, a European belt and K1 Amateur gold medal to his name but he is not finished yet.
And his dad Tom believes the teenager, who will be fighting at the 58kg category and who is trained by the well-respected Gzim Nikaj, has the ability to be take the title.
“Marley is a very talented fighter,” he said. “We have been hoping to get a fight such as this and he is working very hard to be in perfect shape come May. We are very excited and are looking forward to it.”
