Tilbury 1-0 Thamesmead Town
From Chadfields
Ryman One North
TILBURY secured a much-welcome three points against Thamesmead Town to end the season at Chadfields on a high.
The Dockers had lost 13 of the last 16 matches although wanted to end the home campaign on a positive note against a Thamesmead side looking to secure a top six finish.
Tilbury had lost out to AFC Sudbury in their last home encounter, who lifted the Ryman One North trophy in the process, but were impressive against Thamesmead.
Perhaps it should have been more comfortable, as the visitors’ Joe Vines was sent off with just 13 minutes on the clock.
But Tilbury couldn't find a way through in an edgy first half.
The winner came shortly after the hour mark when Kurt Smith buried a strike into the corner and that was enough for Gary Henty and his team.
Tilbury: Bogard, Mead, Cook, D Smith, Nightingill, Game (Jaggs), Babalola, Carlile, Richmond, Martin, K Smith
