Aveley 1–1 Haringey Borough

From Mill Field

Ryman One North

AVELEY played out a 1-1 draw with Haringey Borough in a match that could have gone either way.

The Millers have been fast out of the blocks in recent weeks but they were sluggish inside the first 100 seconds of this match as Leon Smith crashed home a volley at the far post.

Andres Tobon fired just wide in response before Perry Dunn headed off the Haringey Borough crossbar in what was a rapid start to the match.

Home manager Justin Gardner was then sent to the stands for an exchange of words with the linesman, as the Millers cranked up the heat.

But Aveley were still on top, with Liam Nash and David Fallah posing a threat in forward areas.

Aveley trailed at the interval but four minutes after the break the scores were level. Abs Seymour pulled a ball back for Tobon and he made no mistake at the back post.

Haringey hit the bar before Aveley substitute Louis Rene sent an effort over the bar from a promising position.

It looked as though Dunn had won it late on with a header but the referee deemed the ball had not crossed the line and the points were shared.

Aveley: Mason, Dunn, Conway, Coyne, Okwera, Edwards (Rene), Nash, Yala, Tobon, Fallah (Pindy), Seymour
