Brightlingsea Regent 0-0 Aveley
From North Road
Ryman One North
AVELEY and Brightlingsea Regent played out an entertaining goalless draw, with the Millers all but ending the hosts hopes of reaching the play-offs.
The Millers have been one of the division’s in-form teams in the final weeks of the season but faced a tough ask at Brightlingsea.
Both sides were struggling to create in the opening 10 minutes, but the first spark came from Aveley as David Fallah’s header thumped the post, although the offside flag had been raised.
Terry Rymer headed over from just outside the six-yard box in what should have brought the first goal, while the Millers' Billy Coyne had to be alert to divert a Josh Gould header off the line.
Liam Nash was kept out, with Michael Pindy shooting over the cross bar shortly after. Although Aveley had Abs Seymour to thank for a fine last-ditch tackle as Regent broke in numbers.
Pindy missed the first chance of the second period as he shot wide when well placed, with Nash and Abs Seymour also going close but the game was to end goalless.
Aveley: Marrable, Dunn, Conway, Coyne, Okwera, Edwards, Nash, Retkoceri (Olliwatimilenhin), Pindy (Tobon), Fallah (Asante), Seymour
