Burgess Hill Town 0–2 East Thurrock United
From Leylands Park
Ryman Premier League
EAST Thurrock United’s tremendous run of form went on, as they struck twice in four second-half minutes to down Burgess Hill Town.
Lewis Smith and the ever-impressive Tom Wraight got the goals inside the final 18 minutes to guide Rocks to second in the league.
John Coventry’s men were one of the division’s form teams and had beaten Burgess Hill less than a fortnight ago in the reverse fixture.
Joe Ellul, a recent addition Billericay, started for the visitors and he kept a clean sheet on his debut in a solid performance alongside Rickie Hayles.
But it was two second-half goals that did the damage.
The first came from the tricky Smith as he bamboozled the home defence and slotted the ball home.
And the second came from another of Rocks’ stars this term. Wraight found the net to double the advantage and hand East Thurrock their seventh win in nine games.
The result leaves East Thurrock behind leaders Dulwich Hamlet on goal difference.
East Thurrock: Lidakevicius, Sammons, Nottage, Ellul, Hayles, Wood, Smith, Craddock, Higgins, Wraight, Morgan
