Aveley 1–2 Harlow Town
From Mill Field
Ryman One North
AVELEY couldn’t repeat their heroics of last week as they lost 2-1 to an in-form Harlow Town.
The Millers had ended Tilbury’s long unbeaten record in the Ryman One North last weekend, but were up against a Harlow team that are becoming strong play-off contenders.
The first real chance of the match brought the first goal, after 13 minutes. Piers Wixon picked up a loose ball in the penalty area and fired into the top corner.
The away side were in control, albeit without creating any clear-cut opportunities, as Aveley searched for a way back into the match.
Liam Nash shot over, but it was 2-0 before the half was out.
A cross from Junior Dadson caused chaos in the home penalty area and Perry Dunn could only divert the ball into his own net.
Aveley created a good chance to score at the start of the second period, as Arian Retkoceri and Abs Seymour came close.
However, they only got back into the match with two minutes to go. Abs Seymour fired at goal, and Nash got the final touch to divert the ball home.
Aveley: Marrable, Oseyemi, Shehu (Harrison), Yala, Dunn, Edwards, Nash, Retkoceri, Holland (Rene), Conway (Ashman), Seymour
