WEST Ham have completed the signing of defender Sam Byram from Leeds.
Byram, 22, has penned a four-and-a-half year deal with the Premier League club, with the transfer fee undisclosed, but reported to be around £3.7million.
The defender, who was born in Thurrock, was also said to have been attracting interest from Everton and was a regular in the Leeds side this season.
He is now expected to challenge for a first-team spot in Slaven Bilic’s squad.
“I’m unbelievably proud and happy to join a club as big as this,” Byram told the club’s official website. “I’m just looking forward to what the future holds and hopefully I can achieve things with the team going forward."
Full-back Byram spent his early years in Thurrock but moved to Yorkshire as a child.
