FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD Thurrock player Callum Harvey has won a Jack Petchey Achievement award.
Harvey has progressed from the club’s mini section to the men’s second team.
He has even represented the first team Meanwhile, club chairman Jacki Milne won a Jack Petchey Leader award Throughout more than 35 years in the club, she has held a number of posts which were often involved with the youth of the club. She has captained most of the ladies teams and managed the youth teams, both girls and boys, as well as coaching Essex under-19s and umpiring most weekends.
On the turf this weekend, Thurrock ladies third team were beaten 7-1 by Southend & Benfleet.
Captain Charlotte Adams got the goal in a game where T’s showed plenty of spirit.
Thurrock men’s second team beat Redbridge & Ilford 5-0 in East Men’s League. Division Seven southeast.
A first half goal from Darren Clarke was the only difference at half time despite Thurrock dominating the play.
The second half saw Thurrock convert their possession into goals, with strikes from Jay Lamb, Liam Birch, Olu Akinwande and Clarke’s second of the game.
Thurrock men’s third team beat Waltham Forest Otters 1-0.
Skipper Aaron Saunders got the winning goal from a penalty corner.
