Aveley 2-4 Phoenix Sports

From Mill Field

Ryman One North

AVELEY were comprehensively beaten by Phoenix Sports on a blustery night at Mill Field.

Goals from Billy Holland and Junior Baker were not enough for the home side although, despite the six goals, the game started slowly.

In fact the first real chance brought the first goal as Adem Ramaden cut inside and buried an effort beyond James Marrable.

That lead only last eight minutes as Tarryn Allarakhia crossed for Michael Alaile. His header dropped to Holland and he prodded home.

But there was plenty more action in the half. Abs Seymour crossed for Baker and his header was buried into the corner.

Phoenix got back into it on the stroke of half-time with a contentious penalty. The ball hit Baker’s arm from close range and Steven Springett netted from 12 yards.

Sports took the lead 12 points into the second-half and it was a fine strike from Jacob Mingle, drilling across Marrable.

Steve Phillips in the away goal kept the advantage after a number of fine saves and they took advantage 15 minutes from time – Ramaden curling home for his second of the night.
