Aveley 6-1 Redbridge

A TERRIFIC second-half performance from Aveley saw them crush Redbridge 6-1 to make it three wins in a row.

Braces from Pet Elbi and Alex Teniola, plus goals from Michael Alaile and Liam Nash were enough for the home team against struggling Redbridge.

Mark Parker was the busiest of the two keepers early on and he had to be at his best to keep out the lively Alex Teniola after neat work from Tarryn Allarakhia.

Billy Holland was the next to come close for the home side, who had started the brighter. The man who netted two goal last weekend saw his flicked header cleared off the line.

Pet Elbi and Liam Nash were combining well up front and they linked to let in Allarakhia, but his effort was kept out by a superb finger-tip save from Parker.

But there was nothing he could do to keep out the opening strike. Elbi held his nerve to beat the last defender and fire home just before the half hour.

Aveley were by far the better side in the first-half and they deservedly doubled their lead shortly after the break.

Teniola did get his goal with a fierce shot that Parker had no chance of saving.

But, somewhat surprisingly, back came Redbridge with Billy Drave chipping over James Marrable to make it 2-1.

But from then on in it was all Aveley.

Teniola got a goal after good work from Elbi, with the latter getting his second after good work from Allarakhia.

With 10 minutes to go Alaile headed home after a fine cross from Nash, and it was the striker who rounded off the scoring with a fine individual goal.
