RUGBY: Emily Scott was unable to stop England Women’s team suffering an 11-0 defeat against France on Sunday.

Corringham’s Scott, who plays for the T-Birds, started the game at fly-half but could not help England get onto the score-sheet.

It was a better weekend for her club team-mates, however, as the T-Birds trounced Cheltenham Tigers 63-14 in Championship South One.

T’s scored 11 tries with Sophie Tyler bagging the first one to break the deadlock.

Sally Tuson then touched down twice before Dyche scored his first try of the season.

India Harvey soon also got in on the act to make it 29-0 at half-time.

After the break, Tyler scored her second try of the game before Cheltenham hit back with a try of their own.

However, T’s were soon back on top with Sarah Harvey, Frank Jordan, Tuson and Tammy Nichols all scoring tries.

Cheltenham replied with a consolation try before Dannie Harris broke her duck for the season to complete the scoring.

T-Birds remain second in the standings, three points behind league leaders Richmond who have also played a game less than Thurrock.
