Tilbury 3–1 Romford
From Chadfields
Ryman One North
THREE goals in 12 second-half minutes helped Tilbury to a 3-1 win over Romford.
Goals from Tony Martin, Emiel Aiken and Jack Carlile were enough for the home side, after they had conceded early in the half to go behind.
Kurt Smith had the first meaningful effort, sending in a fierce free-kick that was spectacularly saved by Michael Gooch. Aiken came close as Tilbury cranked up the pressure but Romford were very much in the contest.
Romford, playing against the win in the first-half, hit a post when Clarke Boagrd could only tip a Jake Giddings strike onto the upright although they would take the lead shortly after half-time.
A poor attempted clearance dropped to Chinedu McKenzie and he ran through and beat Bogard with a neat, low finish.
But Martin, on 62 minutes, began the comeback as he nodded into the net after a right-wing cross from Michael Gooch.
Aiken also scored with a header after he was picked out by Kurt Smith just two minutes later and Smith was again the orchestrator for the third.
His free-kick hit the crossbar and Carlile headed into the empty net.
Tilbury: Bogard, Mead, Glozier, D Smith, Pooley, Game, Aiken (Babalola), Carlile, Cook (Richmond), Martin, K Smith (Elsom)
