Great Wakering Rovers 3–2 Aveley
From Burroughs Park
Ryman One North
AVELEY were unable to match Great Wakering Rovers as they went down 3-2 at Burroughs Park.
Rovers won 3-2 to hand Rovers boss Gary Ansell his first victory since taking the reigns last week, and they were impressive all evening.
Rovers took the lead after just nine minutes, when neat work from Jake Gordon saw the ball played into Tom Ranger and he found the net coolly.
That lead last just two minutes however. A free-kick from Joe Pearman found the head of Junior Baker and he beat Adam Seal.
Back came Rovers, and they restored their advantage when Gordon scored after a missed header from Spencer Harrison.
Both sides exchanged chances and Jay Nash netted on the stroke of half-time.
A neat move ended with the striker sweeping home.
Arian Retkoceri pulled a goal after the break back but it wasn’t enough for the Millers.
Aveley: Marrable, Preston, Seymour, Baker, Harrison, Deen, L Nash, Holland, Elbi (Retkoceri), Pearman, Peagram (Teniola)
