Tonbridge Angels 2-3 Grays Athletic
GRAYS Athletic won a five-goal thriller at Tonbridge Angels to record their first win of the Ryman Premier League season.
Blues were indebted to a Dumebi Dumaka double and a late winner from Joao Carlos as they came from behind to record an impressive win.
Tom Parkinson had fired the hosts ahead after just three minutes, after goalkeeper Lamar Johnson was adjudged not to have been fouled by Nathan Elder, with Parkinson tapping home from on the goal line.
Grays survived a penalty shout and several more good chances went begging for Angels before drawing level - Dumaka crashing home after Nathan Ferguson’s neat header saw him in the clear.
Parkinson came close again for Angels before half-time, but Grays came out a renewed side after the break. After Angels had seen a goal ruled out, neat work from Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson saw Dumaka make no mistake as he bore down on goal.
But the lead only lasted seven minutes, as Luke Blewden blasted home from outside the box.
Dumaka was a whisker away from his hat-trick as both sides pressed on and it was the visitors who made the decisive contribution, with Carlos bending delightfully into the top corner after an Angels error.
