Aveley 2-3 Ware
From Mill Field
Ryman One North
AVELEY threw away a 2-0 lead against Ware to go down 3-2 in the dying moments.
The Millers looked set to consolidate their top 10 position and move six points clear of Ware in the division but three second-half goals put paid to those hopes.
The game started at a quick pace, although there were not many clear-cut chances for either side. Petrit Elbi was looking lively and he crossed for Liam Nash but his header was blocked away.
The same man came close to opening the scoring 10 minutes before half-time, but he hit the post after some neat work from pacey winger Theo Ola.
One minute later Ware had a golden chance to score when they were awarded a penalty, but Sean Johnson shot wide of the target.
And they were made to pay, when Aveley struck on the stroke of half-time. A corner was swung in and Sammy Knott powered home impressively.
It was 2-0 five minutes into the second-half when Ola was brought down in the box by Murat Karagul, and Elbi made no mistake.
Junior Baker headed wide before Karagul gave the visitors hope midway through the second period.
Both sides exchanged chances but Ware were pressing and they got the equaliser through Khale Da Costa, as he crashed home after Knott had cleared off the line.
And the turnaround was complete when the impressive Karagul scored the winner.
Aveley: Marrable, Kamara (Bakare), Knott, Baker, Harrison, Stanley, Holland, Ola (Farrell), Elbi (Scott), Nash, Retkoceri
