STANFORD under-15s secured victory over Romford in their final home match of the season.

Sean Loughran almost gave Stanford the perfect start but was denied by the Romford defence.

But it didn’t take long for Jamie Wooffitt to get the first points from a well-crafted backs move. Joe Duligall added the extras.

Romford scored with a good backs move but Stanford continued to be the stronger team with Loughran again held up over the line.

This time it was the fast pace of Duligall who came off a perfectly timed pass from Ben Kelly to score and then he added the extra two points to go with his try.

Wooffitt was next to score from another well worked move. Duligall again converted to give Stanford a 21-5 half-time lead.

Romford cut the deficit with a try early in the second half but immediately from the kick off, Stanford were awarded a try and that lead was extended further when Peter Colbert sprinted in under the posts. Duligall again kicked the extras.

A flowing backs move then saw Rhys Dell skip back inside to avoid a cover tackle and cross the line.

Romford had the last say in the scoring which closed out the game with Stanford winning 33-17.
