Aveley 7-0 Redbridge
From Mill Field
Ryman One North
AVELEY crushed Redbridge to record their first win in eight matches, with Petrit Elbi stealing the show with four goals.
Only two days after a disappointing defeat at the hands of Cheshunt, Justin Gardner's side scored seven goals to down sorry Redbridge.
It was 5-0 at half-time, with Elbi netting a treble in ply 13 minutes but they were impressive throughout the contest.
Aveley started well and had the first clear-cut chance after only 10 minutes. Danny Francis burst through and fizzed an effort against the post, and he shot wide 60 seconds later.
Two goals in two minutes put the Millers in charge. With 16 minutes on the clock Elbi shot into the bottom corner before Jack Stevenson hit a neat volley past the Redbridge stopper.
Lamar Reynolds fed Elbi as he doubled his tally but the next chance fell to Redbridge, Matty Bakare conceded the spot-kick but James Marrable was equal to the penalty and it was pushed away.
The Millers went up the other end of the pitch and Elbi got his hat-trick, finishing impressively past Jack Avery.
Francis was struggling to get his name on the scoresheet, as he was denied by the woodwork once again.
Elbi and Reynolds came close again before the former did net his fourth of the evening.
5-0 at the break, Aveley could have sat back but they wanted more goals.
Stevenson added a sixth with a fine chip before Robbie Farrell, who had been denied by the post added a final goal after chipping Avery impressively.
Aveley: Marrable, Bakare (Retkoceri), Knott, Preston, Willis, Ling, Deen (Hopkins), Elbi (Farrell), Francis, Holland, Stevenson, Reynolds
