Redbridge 2-1 Tilbury

TILBURY were beaten 2-1 by relegation-threatened Redbridge as their recent struggles continued.
Having previously won seven in nine matches, the Dockers are now without a win in their last four games and they were beaten by a Joe Gent brace on Saturday, having missed a penalty.
Tilbury started well and Gent could have opened his account before he struck for the first time, but his lob went wide of the target.
But he was not to be denied when he broke through to score after former Thurrock man Abs Thompson saw an effort come back off the crossbar.
Gary Henty’s men pressed for a response, with Tom Wood curling an effort at goal only to be denied acrobatically by Redbridge keeper Mark Parker.
But they then missed their second penalty in consecutive matches. Having been denied from the spot against Great Wakering Rovers, Wood stepped aside but Neil Richmond – who had missed last weekend’s goalless draw – struck a weak kick that was saved.
And Rebrdige soon doubled their lead when Gent sent a fine strike past Lamar Johnson.
In the second-half, Tilbury struggled to create clear-cut chances, although they did pull a late goal back through Jake Pooley.
Tilbury: L Johnson, Webb (Daniel), Cook (Pooley), E Johnson, Smith, Game (Glesinger), Babalola, Wood, Richmond, Martin, Flack
