THURROCK Harriers’ Gemma Holloway continued her fine cross-country season by finishing third in the under-20 women’s race at the British Cross-Challenge at Milton Keynes on Saturday.
Holloway was one of three runners who broke away from the rest of the field but stumbled on the last lap allowing GB international Phoebe Law and Bronwen Owen to come past her late on.
Holloway's younger team-mates Hayley Instance and Harry Parker also enjoyed good runs.
Gable Hall School pupil Instance was eighth in the under-13 girls race while Parker was 15th in the under-13 boys race.
