STANFORD II beat Old Brentwood III 40-13.

The visiting Old B’s pack flexed their muscles early on and scored the game’s first try.

But Michael Kite cancelled that score out with a try and then added the two points himself to put Stanford 7-5 up.

Brentwood’s pack rumbled over again to put themselves back in front but Aaron Smith showed quick feet to put the hosts 12-10 in front at the break.

Old B’s were reduced to 14 players when one of their men saw red, but they kicked a penalty to go 13-12 up.

But from that point onwards it was all Calum Reid when he collected his own kick to go over. Kite kicked the extra points.

Munro then beat four defenders to extend Stanford’s lead, with Jacob Cushing, playing his first senior game, stepping up to slot home the conversion to make it 26-13.

Dan McIntosh then went over, with the conversion again kicked by Cushing before Kite added his second try of the game, and kicked the extra points for good measure to seal a 40-13 win.

* Stanford’s under-15 side beat Rochford 31-24 in their final game of the season.

Joe Duligall opened the scoring when he used his speed to run in under the posts.

He then added the extra two points.

Ross Gale then got another try for Stanford after good work from the forwards before a strong run from from Ben Kersch-Hunt at number eight led to scrum half Matthew Hook sneaking over the line.

Jack Knight then charged down a kick which led to Harvey Cassidy scooping up and crossing the line.

Stanford were running away with the game but Rochford dug deep and scored two quick tries to get them within 14 points at the interval, with the hosts 24-10 up.

Rochford ran in two converted tries early in the second half to level the game.

With just one minute left, Stanford battled their way to within metres of the Rochford line. A scrum gave them the perfect chance to close the game out and Harvey Cassidy did just that by diving over the line. Zack Burdett kicked the extras to seal a 31-24 win.
