THURROCK Swimming Club members took on a high-quality field when they competed at Hillingdon’s level two meeting.

Those in action at the west London event included national medallists and record holders.

Jack Williams set a two-second personal best (PB) in the 100m free and another best time in the 50m fly.

Rebecca West swam a great 100m fly achieving a three-second PB and an Essex qualifying time. She also made it through to the final, where she finished eighth.

Rebecca also set another best time in the 50m breast-stroke, 50m backstroke, 50m fly, a two-second PB in the 400 individual medley and a three-second PB in the 200m fly, which was a regional time. Martine Tran equalled her best times in the 100m back, 100m fly and 50m freestyle.

Martine achieved a PB and regional time in the 50m back and a one-second PB in the 100 free. Sam Barella achieved an Essex qualifying time in the 50m back, a PB in the 50m free and was just outside of his best times in the 50m fly and 100m fly. Tilly Mayes achieved a massive three-second PB in the 50m breast-stroke and a one-second PB in the 50m free. She also smashed her PB in the 50m back, 50m fly (3/100ths outside of the regional qualifying time), 100m breast-stroke and 200m IM. Aimee Newport achieved a best time in the 100m back, 50m back, 200m IM and equalled her PB in the 50m fly.

In the 200m back, she was less than a second outside of the regional qualifying time.

James Edgings achieved a one-second PB in the 50m fly. Mia Fursedonne equalled her best in the 50m free and just outside in the 200 free.

She also beat her previous PB in the 100m free by more than a second and was just outside of her best in the 50m fly. Annabel Speers achieved a PB in the 50m free and 50m fly and just outside of her 100m and 200m freestyle PB. Abigayle Still swam to a best time in the 50 free and PBs in the 50m back, 50m fly and 200m IM. Aaron Lambie achieved a regional time in the 200m fly and a one-second PB in the 200m IM.
